Online Dating Profile Advice

Successful online dating exists for those that make the most out of their experiences, both good and bad. Just like everything else in life there are do's and don'ts. Advice should be taken just as it is, advice. I believe that anybody reading this is a completely competent person that just needs some direction. Never substitute your judgement with someone else's.

The internet is a wonderful, vibrant, and sometimes scary place! For as much as can come out of a pleasant online dating experience there is much to be said for bad experiences. Rule #1, no matter how "hot" this person is never give out personal information. Which includes your address, telephone numbers (right off the bat), social security, checking account number, license plate, etc. Anything that can be used to identify you. Why is this? Because not everybody on these sites is legit, con-artists exist in real life as much as they do in the online dating world.

With that being said, it's time to set up your profile.

You don't have to do this but I suggest using a reputable dating site. Stay away from MySpace and other "social networking" sites to look for love, go to a site that was created for the sole purpose of helping people seeking relationships meet each other.

Decide what it is that you're looking for. If you're really into sports, reading, or animals it's important to find a way to incorporate that into your profile. By being honest with yourself, and on your profile, you stand a better chance of attracting someone that you can get along with. Let your personality show in your profile, if you like to cook and entertain friends say something along the lines of, "My friends love coming to my place for a great meal and conversation...I'm quite the wine enthusiast! My favorite vineyard is located..." It doesn't really matter what it is you like, it's how you present yourself. There is always going to be someone out there that shares your interests--you just have to know how to appeal to them.

Avoid being bland and boring while describing yourself. "I like to cook. I like wine." Wow! Fascinating, tell me more! If your goal is to alienate as many people from your profile as possible, use the above tactics.
Beauty is only skin-deep, never forget that. Pictures are important for online dating profiles, but remember to keep an open mind. Turning someone down based off of a two second look at their profile picture is unfair. Get to know the character first, if nothing else you're gaining experience in talking to the opposite sex. Now, when it comes to your pictures make sure that you're putting your best foot forward. Tacky pictures taken at 2 a.m. in front of your webcam are not attractive. Get a friend or a professional to go outside with you, yes sunlight should be involved, and take some quality pictures. Smiling never killed anyone, so try it.

Keep in mind that it's your profile that's going to connect you to the rest of the online dating world. Putting a decent amount of time and effort into your profile is going to make all the difference. Both men and women shy away from sketchy profiles, those that are very generic and say little to nothing about the person they're representing.

If you want to connect with anybody you have to leave some things up to mystery. As great as your profile should be it shouldn't contain every bit of information about you. Save some things for conversation. Make someone want to contact you. Maybe the person reading your profile also likes wine from the same vineyard, so they're going to message you. Now you have something to talk about. But if you went into seven paragraphs about why you like the wine and when you first had it there's no reason for that person to contact you, they already know everything. Does that make sense?

What Is Online Dating?

A dating site is an online service where singles meet other singles. It's a well-known fact that a lot of American singles seeking love are nowadays on online dating sites. The main reason is that these services are filled with a lot of local singles, and they allow singles to meet their ideal matches and life partners with ease. There are always singles that are in search of other singles online. Most singles want to find a long term and successful relationship.

There are different types of online dating sites: spiritual dating sites, general dating sites, or other theme based dating sites. Some services are free and others are a mixture between free and paid memberships.

Free vs Paid Memberships

There are many completely free online dating sites that exist but they often lack members who are sincere about making a commitment. Although there are many sites you can join for free, there are also many sites that require a monthly fee. The paid membership sites typically offer a free trial or they feature partial memberships as well as full memberships. Membership fees can start at .00 and reach over .00 per month. It's always advisable to first check out the free services and take a look their features.

Choosing the right dating site

As Valentine's Day approaches, many singles will be searching for love on the Web. If you are one of those singles, it can be very challenging to decide which online dating site is the right one for you. It always depends on what you're looking for and what you expect from a dating service. The best thing to do is to test different dating sites before you choose one. You may even want to sign up for a variety of sites to see which ones offer the best services and have the types of members who are the most compatible with your values.

Important Dating Tips

Whichever dating site you end up selecting, there are always a number of important things to keep in mind:

- For your protection, never give out your personal information.

- Don't upload pictures that don't represent who you really are.

- Design your profile and reveal interests that reflect the real you. People often make judgments about people's personalities based on the answers in their profiles. Make sure your profile adequately reveals your authentic personality.

Free Online Dating Summary

There are a great many laws of attraction which must be followed in order to find success in all areas of your life, and violation of these laws can have many unpleasant results, many of which do not have a statute of limitations with regards to time. For this reason, it is important to ensure that you are well educated in all of the laws of attraction, regardless of their pertinence to your current lifestyle.

The first thing which you must remember is that the laws of human attraction are very similar to those still in effect in nature. Survival of the fittest is the guideline that animals use to determine the suitability of their mate; the mate possessing the greatest strength is most likely to produce strong offspring that will be able to survive on their own in the unforgiving world they are going to find themselves thrust into. Therefore, the mate which has the greatest reputation in battle and the highest position of authority within the pack is going to be the one that is most desired.

In the case of males this individual is going to be the alpha male (the alpha female effect does not seem to carry over into the human world as much as that of the alpha male).

The alpha male is the "leader of the pack". He will have proven himself in battle many times over. In the human world, this is going to be the individual who is at the forefront of his particular area of expertise and will generally have a great deal of wealth and reputation to provide support to their position. There are many types of alpha males in the human world; this is not a position solely restricted to the heads of major corporations (as many leaders in the business industry would have you believe).

If you find yourself in competition with an alpha for the attentions of the object of your affection there are a number of measures you can take to ensure that you come out on top; after all, although the alpha may be the most desirable they are often unable to commit to a relationship, saving their passion for their work. By taking all possible measures to ensure that you are placing your best foot forward when you are introduced to someone new and being willing to commit a great deal of yourself to a relationship you will find that not being an alpha is not necessarily a black mark against you.

The ability of polar opposites to attract is just as present in the human world as it is in nature; these opposites often complete each other, bringing balance and harmony to a relationship. Anyone who is attempting to form a relationship with their polar opposite is going to have to work very hard not to pressure their other half for change after the relationship has begun; it was their very difference that attracted you to them in the first place. If you do not feel that you can live with these differences it is better to accept that the relationship is lost than to attempt to place excessive pressure on both of you before the relationship disintegrates of its own accord.

It is important to remember that not all cultures have the same laws of attraction. Before entering into a multi-ethnic relationship it is important to learn more about the other person's culture to avoid unintentionally causing offense. If you are able to follow all of these laws you will soon find yourself succeeding in all areas of attraction.
